Maya Traditions: Indiegogo

Our friends over at Maya Traditions have started an Indiegogo campaign to raise funding for their organization, which celebrates the skills of artisans and the craft of backstrap weaving in the highlands of Guatemala.

Maya Traditions works with skilled, indigenous artisans and provides education-based tools and grassroots social programs to create handmade products that strengthen communities. They aim to provide consistent and sustainable jobs to their artisans and share their products with socially conscious consumers and small businesses all over the world. Because our missions align, we knew early on that a partnership with Maya Traditions would be a long lasting one.

The goal of Maya Traditions is to grow their social enterprise to guarantee long-term and community-focused support for their artisans. To help realize this goal, they have started an Indiegogo campaign, that is live for the next month! If the campaign is successful, Maya Traditions will be able to provide more consistent work for their artisans and in turn, economic stability.

At Local + Lejos, we recently partnered with the group for a new pillowcase collection, featuring unique designs and fun summer colors. We are so excited about the launch of this collection, and our ability to support such a great organization.

Take some time to check out their Indiegogo campaign and help support economic stability for women worldwide!
