On the rolling hills of Rwanda, sisal grows tall and strong for nearly two years before it is ready to harvest. Skilled women artisans carefully cut the leaves by hand, strip away the outer layers to reveal the strong white fibers, then wash and dry them in the sun.

The fibers are dyed using natural Rwandan tea for warm, earthy tones or colored in small batches in our color lab to create custom designs. Using traditional weaving techniques, each artisan carefully shapes and stitches the sisal by hand, creating intricate earrings that reflect remarkable precision and skill.

Though small in size, each pair reflects the same patience, craftsmanship, and attention to detail found in Rwanda's larger woven pieces. More than an accessory, these earrings carry the story of the women who made them and the beauty of Rwanda's weaving tradition.
